Re RAIN or COLD/HOT/WIND WEATHER
NOTE: Rain can move in too rapidly to keep up with. If this page does not say if a specific show has rained out, check the message at 515 274 8989 for the latest information.
Or just swing by the Amphitheater, where signs will be posted- you’ll be able to tell if we are there without even having to leave your car- and you are just a few short blocks from our indoor location! We’ll hold the house during a rain out for 15 extra minutes, to give everyone time to travel.
SPECIFIC RAIN OUT LOCATION INFORMATION:
For 2009 Shows: Rained out shows on July 23- July 26 would have been held in the “Secret Castle” room at 519 Park Street.
However, the Rain Out location for our August 1 and 2 shows is different.
But the bottom line remains the same: if our show dates of August 1 or August 2 experience too much weather, the show STILL will go on!
STILL FREE! And you can STILL bring wine, picnics and lawn chairs!
So come for an indoor picnic at the following TERRIFIC Aug 1 and 2 rain location:
The ultra cool, hip East Village “secret” loft space at 500 E. Locust, downtown Des Moines.
Directions: Enter through the 500 E. Locust address- FYI this is the building which houses Metro Arts Alliance (and the “Underground”, and many other shops and offices)
This is an elevator building, for those who need one, so we are handicapped accessible.
However, the “secret” loft space where our theatre is technically is located in another building next door. This building is accessed through 500 E. Locust.
Thus, as you enter, you will be directed to the “Secret Passageway” connector to wonderful loft space that is not typically open to the public.
We promise- coming here for theatre will really be a treat! For example, be sure to check out the ultra hip bathrooms! Porta Potties they most certainly are NOT!
So even if it rains, you’ll enjoy a romantic picnic indoors – and don’t forget those lawn chairs! (We’ve only VERY limited traditional seating).
PS: We’ll start at 8:30 if it rains – and we are merely a few blocks from the Amphitheater- so you’ll have plenty of time to travel!
